The WLH residents who allow their dogs to defecate in my front yard without picking it up aren't at all polite or considerate of their neighbors.  Somehow I muster the energy and time to clean my cats' litter boxes daily, so it's a mystery to me why so many dog owners don't feel at all obligated to clean up after their pets when they poop in other people's yards.

Please take a plastic garbage bag or newspaper bag with you when walking your dog.  Slip the bag over your hand, then pick up the feces with the bag covering your hand.  Turn the bag inside out, and voila!  the neighbor's yard is left unmolested, and you can simply throw the dirty bag in your trash when you return home.

Walk around on the greenbelt areas in the parking lots around PetSmart and Petco, especially after it's rained.  It won't take long to find a 'surprise,' usually a fresh wet one.  These greenbelt areas are covered with wet and dry dog feces, despite the clean-up stations set up on the greenbelts near the storefront. I am certain that the feces are canine in origin, since nobody in their right mind would take their cat to PetSmart as a pleasure trip like dog owners do. I also don't permit my cats to ram their snouts into strangers' crotches in public places, which I have endured many times over the years from dogs at pet stores and those owned by acquaintances.  Some dog owners evidently encourage this, thinking it's funny or cute, but it is unbelievably disrespectful to allow a dog to do that, especially to a stranger.
