Board Nominations

The following is the text of a memo to the Mayor and Council regarding the Bexar Appraisal District. Should anyone be interested in being nominated to this Board, please contact the City Clerk's Office or the Tax Assessor at 207-8740.

Appraisal District's Board-Upcoming Election

The terms of office for the present board members, including Mr. James McAden, the City's representative, will expire on December 31, 2003. Mr. Michael Amezquita, Chief Appraiser, has advised that nominations must be submitted by the City of San Antonio to the appraisal district by October 15, 2003. The chief appraiser will then prepare a ballot and mail it to the presiding officer. The City Council must then cast its allocated votes by resolution and submit the results to the chief appraiser by November 14, 2003.

A resolution would need to be placed on the City Council agenda by October 9, 2003. Therefore, the interviews of candidates for the Bexar Appraisal District's Board of Directors may be conducted during the October 2, 2003 Boards Interview Session.
