Willo Neighborhood Association

Where does Willo money go?

Posted in: Willo
I would like to see an accounting of the way that the funds generated by various activities such as the home tour and luminarias, are being spent. We seem to hear a lot of talk about sidewalks, and street lights, or alley lighting, but none of these things ever seem to actually materialize. Other than the signs that are now posted along 3rd and 5th aves. asking people to slow down, just what was they money spent on and how does Willo benefit? Perhaps this matter could be addressed in the next issue of inside Willo, which I often feel should be renamed inside Kenilworth because of the new abundance of items on the goings on at the school.
I doubt that most residents of the area have any idea how much money is in the Willo neighborhood association account, although we certainly have a right to. When I last inquired it was more than 15 thousand dollars. This is a significant amount of money and I feel that we should be using it for projects, but it always seems that the board can never move things beyond the talking stage so nothing ever gets done.

Thank you for listening.
