Willo Neighborhood Association

No reply, again

Posted in: Willo
Willo board members,
Several months ago I posted a message
inquiring as to where the money that
is raised for willo neighborhood projects has been spent. I asked for
an accounting of the funds in our
association coffers, and what projects
have actually been financed by them.
I have received no reply. I did get
an response from someone who suggested
that I attent a meeting or call Ruth
Marston directly. I appreciate this,
but feel that ALL of us residents are
entitled to this information and as
such it should be given in a public
and widely available format, such as
the inside willo newsletter. I am
beginning to feel as though there is
somthing being hidden here, as I have
asked this question before- at meetings,
and have NEVER gotten an answer. If
indeed there is nothing to hide, why
not let everyone know how much money
there is and how it is being spent.

Thank you,
Shari
Response from Willo Treasurer

We publish the Willo financial statement every month and provide it to all who come to the regular board meetings. The statement includes a full accounting by category, a copy of the bank statements and a copy of the check register.

I see no reason not to report the financial information in the newsletter
and have suggested it several times. Perhaps we should include the annual
report (in summary form) in the newsletter so all residents know the
financial position of Willo.

We provide copies of the financial report at every Willo board meeting (except for unscheduled ''Special meetings''). We also present the Willo Treasurer's report at every regular monthly board meeting and open the floor
to questions. I cannot think of any regular board meeting that a financial
report was not provided to all who attended.

Anyone can call me at 602-819-3903 or 602-252-6632 or write to Willo, P.O.
Box 36506, Phoenix, AZ 85067-6506 and I will mail both a copy of the annual report and a copy of the most recent report.

Willo Money

To Shari Abegglen, Willo has a very good Treasurer, one Steven R. Reiley. He issues a massive report and a copy can be obtained at the Board Meeting if you ask. I have been a Willo Treasurer in years past and take a close interest in how the Willo funds are reported. Steve provides a more comprehensive report than any other volunteer treasurer I have ever seen. Please, satisfy yourself by going to a meeting and ask Steve for a copy, he provides one to every board member either monthly or quarterly. I hope he never tires of volunteering and I thank him for his efforts each time I see him. Jeanne Lindsay, CPA & 30 year Willo resident.

Willo Funds

Shari - As a Willo resident for almost 30 years who has been heavily involved in Willo since the first meeting in 1981 and a Certified Public Accountant, where the money goes is always of great interest to me. Terry Hall of Halls Accounting & Tax Service also is an accountant and has been a Willo resident for many years, plus I believe we have more attorney's per square mile than any other residential area in Phoenix. Please contact Willo Treasurer, Steve Reiley, he has done a marvelous job of tracking all monies and prepared a massive Treasurer's report monthly. This is available to anyone who asks. Attending the monthly Willo Board meetings will give you much insite as to what is happening in Willo and answer all of your money questions.
