SPRING/SUMMER WEEKEND FAMILY FUN

Check out The Urban Divers Estuary Conservancy's ENVIROMEDIA MOBILE- the amazing traveling natture and maritime museum on wheels.   This fantastic mobile museum kicks off it season of WEEKEND FAMILY FUN, in waterfront and environmental recreation, culture, nature appreciation and maritime with EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS EVENTS at various locations through out NYC, including an event at IKEA/ERIE BASIN PARK in Red Hook, Brooklyn, on SUNDAY APRIL 25th at 1PM.  This program follows with SPRING/SUMMER EARTH FEST- A monthly series of more fun for parents and children to enjoy. The event will take place at one of the beautiful waterfront parks in Brooklyn, our very own IKEA/Erie Basin Park, Red Hook Brooklyn. You can follow the ENVIROMEDIA MOBILE for more of the same to BENSONHURST PARK, along Brooklyn's oldest, NYC's longest uninterrupted greenway with a fabulous scenic vista of the Lower Bay. The events provides some of the highest quality and innovative public engagement programs in environmental recreation and maritime cultural enrichment, found in no other place in Brooklyn; family catch and release fishing, underwater video observation station, urban wildlife appreciation, kite flying, enviromental literacy demonstration, and live music... YES!... They have a station called "OPEN PIANO ON THE SOAP BOX"- where anyone talented individual from the audience can sign-up to share a song.  They even have a mobile museum shop and a mobile recycling center.  You can even enter a RAFFLE and have a chance to win an IKEA Prize at every event.

 

 This is a must do weekend experience for everyone of all age groups of any social, cultural and economic background. There is something for everybody to be wowed about, especially their UWOW! event, not pun intended- it stands for "Urban Wings Over Water" a fantastic Falconry Display and Raptor Education program, presented in the middle eastern falconry traditions... and it is all FREE... No long bus trip, No long train ride, No expensive flight..its happening all right here in our backyard.=, right in Brooklyn.

 

They are always need of volunteers, and interns so if you are into this sort of thing, have a desire to doing something different, learning something new, making a difference and having fun, please give you support... and give it to them generously.

 

It does indeed takes a village and they doing their part. You can be helpful too.
