Absent: none
Quorum present? Yes

Others Present: Hashem Ghotly, Block Captain

Proceedings:

•Meeting called to order at 7:05 by Jeff Carlisle

•The necessary forms for filing Articles of Incorporation and obtaining a Tax ID number were reviewed and signed. Jeff Carlisle will continue to work with Georgie Rasco, Director of the Neighborhood Alliance Association, to complete the required filings. The goal is to have all paperwork filed by December 30, 2005.

•Neighborhood street lights were discussed. At this time, it is believed that all street lights are functioning. Any non-working street lights henceforth will be reported “officially” by the WB6NA.

•The entrances to Willow Bend need improvement. The signs are difficult to see and read, and the crape myrtles don’t match.

•The committee members agreed there is not enough time this year to have a “House Decoration” contest.

•Don McGough volunteered his home for a WB6NA Open House on Friday, December 30, 2005. The event will be “Come and Go” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Executive Committee members will contribute food, drinks, and paper goods. Sally Ghotly suggested having an Open House every two or three months. The committee members agreed this was an excellent idea. Aimee Carlisle wrote and printed a flyer to announce the Open House. Don McGough will have the flyer copied and the Block Captains will distribute the copies.

•Regina Rainey will write a newsletter to be handed out—along with copies of the by-laws—at the Open House. Suggested topics for the initial newsletter include:

oSuggestions for newsletter name and association colors
oList of upcoming association events
o“Neighborhood Buzz” (complaints)
o“Did You Know?” (city ordinances)
oList of officers and block captains including contact information and group photo
oWeb site address and information
oCall for committee volunteers and newsletter contributors

•The Steering Committee budget proposal was reviewed and accepted. Annual dues of $35 per member were discussed and agreed upon. The $1,800 budget will be trimmed or expanded depending upon how many dues-paying members join WB6NA. Sally Ghotly will create an Annual Dues form to be handed out at the Open House on December 30, 2005.

•Jeff Carlisle suggested compiling a neighborhood directory as soon as possible. He suggested selling advertising space to local businesses. WB6NA members will be encouraged to find sponsors willing to advertise in the directory. Jeff suggested possibly including other Willow Bend sections in the directory as well.

•Meeting was adjourned by Jeff Carlisle at 8:45 p.m.
