Many homes in Willow Park have dogs, and most of us love our dogs, but not everyone else may love your dog or the things they leave behind.
Dogs in Parker must be on a leash. A recent article in ?“Talk of the Town?” the Town of Parker?’s newsletter stated the leash law as follows: ?“The law requires dogs to be on the owner or caretaker?’s property unless on a leash, confined in a vehicle or confined in a similar manner.?” If you have questions about the leash law call the Parker Police at 303-841-9800.
Pick up after your dog. Pet waste along the walking paths in Willow Park is getting out of hand. There are dog bag stations located in several spots along the path to the west of Willow Park and near the tennis courts at Willow Pointe. Take one of the bags provided at these stations and use it to pickup after your dog, and then deposit at the next station.
Why should you pick up after your dog(s) you might ask? Because dog waste is unsightly and can be unhealthy. The Town of Parker recently provided each addressee in Parker a brochure ?“A Citizens Guide to Reducing Stormwater Pollution?”. In this brochure emphasis is place on pet waste when it stated: ?“Pet waste can be a major source of bacteria and excess nutrients in local waters. When walking your pet, properly pick up and dispose of waste. Leaving pet waste on the ground increases health risks by allowing harmful bacteria and nutrients to wash into the storm drain and eventually into local waterbodies.?” Please pick up after your dog, it is both healthy & neighborly.
