CRIME REPORT; 08-02-10
Good morning!!!!! This was a busy weekend for officers of the Abilene Police Department. Here are some examples of the calls that officers responded to: Officer Joeris responded to a residential burglary call in the 1600 block of South 7th. An unknown suspect removed the window air conditioner unit and entered the residence. The suspect took approximately $1800 worth of electronic items from the residence. Officer Martinez responded to an injured subject call in the 2400 block of North Willis. According to the victim and witnesses, a 32 year old white male hit the victim over the head with a beer bottle. The victim sustained cuts to the head and was later taken to a local hospital. The suspect was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Possession of Marijuana. Finally, Officer Woods responded to a trouble with subject call in the 1600 block of Highway 351. Officer Woods contacted the person causing the trouble. The 24 year old white male was arrested for an outstanding Parole Violation warrant. This week is “National Stop on Red Week.” Please take the time to slow down, stop for red lights and be a defensive driver. A defensive driver is a safe driver.
