CRIME REPORT; 08-09-10

      Good morning!!!!  Over the weekend, officers of the Abilene Police Department responded to numerous calls for service.  Here are a few examples.   Officer Brown responded to a vehicle burglary call in the 1300 block of Barrow.  The victim stated an unknown suspect entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and took a car stereo valued at $600.  A report was worked for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.   Officer Thomas responded to a residential burglary call on Pyracantha Circle.  The victim stated an unknown subject had entered the victim's garage through an open door and took approximately $800 worth of items.  A burglary report was worked.   Finally, Officer Holmes stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of North Treadaway.  During the traffic stop, a police K-9 alerted on the vehicle.  During the subsequent investigation, a 41 year old black male was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

    Good morning!!!!!  Over the last twenty four hours, officers of the Abilene Police Department have responded to numerous calls, with many being car burglaries.  Here are a few examples.   Officer Perez responded to a commercial building burglary call in the 5200 block of South 7th.  The victim stated an unknown suspect had cut a lock on a back gate to the business and had then cut a screen on a portable building.  Once inside, the suspect took various lawn equipment and a trailer.  The victim's loss was estimated at approximately $5500.  A report was worked for Burglary of a Building.   Officer Walker responded to a disturbance call in the 2500 block of South Winters freeway.  When Officer Walker arrived on scene, a 42 year old hispanic male was running through vehicle traffic and dragging his ten year old son with him.  The subject continued to run back and forth in traffic and refused to stop for the officers.  The subject was finally caught and arrested for state jail felony Endangering a Child and class A misdemeanor Evading Detention.   Officer Antilly responded to a vehicle burglary call in the 2700 block of North Judge Ely.  The victim stated an unknown suspect had entered the victim's vehicle through a rolled down window and the suspect took the victim's wallet and contents.  The victim's loss was estimated at $55 and a vehicle burglary report was worked.   Protect yourself and your neighborhood from thieves.  Lock your doors and windows, take your keys with you, and secure valuables in the trunk.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 08-11-10

    Good morning!!!!  Here are a few examples of the calls your police department responded to over the last twenty four hours:   Officer Harris responded to a trouble with subject call in the 1900 block of Pine.  As Officer Harris arrived on scene, he saw a 19 year old white male who had an outstanding warrant.  The subject began to run from the scene but was caught a short distance away.  The subject was arrested for the outstanding warrant (delivery of a controlled substance) and for evading arrest.   Officer Walker responded to a vehicle accident and contacted one of the drivers in the 1900 block of Pine.  The subject had an outstanding warrant for burglary of a motor vehicle and was arrested.   Officer Antilley stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of East North 10th.  The driver, a 21 year old white male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  This incident is the 409th DWI in Abilene since January 1st.   Finally, Officer Vickers responded to a disturbance call in the 2100 block of Hardy.  Officer Vickers contacted a 19 year old black male who was part of the disturbance.  The subject had a valid protective order prohibiting him from being at the location and the subject was arrested.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 08-13-10

    Good morning!!!!  Here are a few incidents that your police department responded to over the last twenty four hours.   Officer Rafferty responded to a disturbance call in the 5300 block of Taos.  Officer Rafferty contacted the victim who stated her husband, a 42 year old black male, had punched her in the face with his fist during an argument.  The victim had a visible cut on her lip from the incident.  The suspect was arrested for Assault/Family Violence.   Officer Dixon stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of Sayles.  The driver, a 28 year old hispanic female, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.    Officer Hutchinson stopped a vehicle in the 4200 block of Ridgemont.  The driver, a 27 year old hispanic male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  This incident is the 412th DWI in Abilene since January 1st.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.
