Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…
At about 7:52 P.M. last night, Officer Payne responded to a call of a possible drunk driver. He located the vehicle in the 1100 block of S. Treadaway. Officer Payne stopped the vehicle due to a defective taillight. Upon contacting the driver, a 50 year old male, Officer Payne could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from this person. The subject failed the Standardized Field Sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
At about 11:50 P.M. last night, Officer Hambright responded to a call of a suspicious subject in the 600 block of Meander. There he contacted a 24 year old male who was too intoxicated to stand and had to be helped to the patrol car. This subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Taylor County Jail.
Finally at about 12:35 A.M. this morning, Officer Walker responded to a disturbance call in the 1800 block of N. 2nd. Upon arrival Officer Walker observed a 44 year old male in the street. When Officer Walker exited his patrol car and identified himself this male began running from the officer. The subject was caught a short distance later and charged with Evading Detention.
