CRIME REPORT; 11-18-2010

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 8:43 A.M. yesterday morning officers of the Abilene Police Department responded to a robbery call in the 5100 block of HWY. 277.  The victim reported that they had been robbed by an unknown male who had a weapon.  A description was given of this subject and officers began to check the surrounding area.  Officer McGrew located a subject matching the description of the robbery suspect.  This subject got into a vehicle as a passenger and the vehicle started to leave the area.  Officer McGrew stopped this vehicle and detained the passenger.  The subject, a 23 year old male, was found to be in possession of a large amount of cash.  After further investigation this subject confessed to the robbery and was transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

Finally, at about 10:59P.M. last night, Officer Villarreal stopped a subject on a bicycle for failing to have a white light on his bike.  This subject, a 32 year old male, was found to have prior contacts for narcotics.  Officer Villarreal asked the subject for consent to search him and the subject consented.  During this search, the subject was found to be in possession of cocaine.  He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

CRIME REPORT; 11-19-2010

 

 

 

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 11:00 P.M. last night, Officer Davis stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block of Briarwood for failing to stop at a stop sign.  Upon contacting the driver, a 20 year old male, Officer Davis could smell the odor of burnt marijuana.  After further investigation it was found that the driver was in possession of cocaine.  This subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

 

At about 12:15 A.M. Officer Garrett stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of East Overland Trail, for running a red light.  After contacting the driver, a 25 year old male, it was found that his driver’s license was invalid.  He was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

Finally, at about 2:30 A.M. this morning, Officer Walker stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of North Treadaway for failing to signal a turn.  Upon contacting the driver, a 20 year old male, Officer Walker could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from this person.  The driver was asked to perform the Field Sobriety tests and failed.  He was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.  A breath test was administered and showed the driver to be over the legal limit.
