CRIME REPORT; 01-14-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 3:10 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Kropp stopped a vehicle in the 4400 block of Ridgemont for not having an inspection sticker.  Upon contacting the driver, a 22 year old male, it was found that he had several local traffic warrants for his arrest.  The total fine on the warrants was $1,300.00.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

At about 5:00 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Farley was dispatched to a shoplifting call at a local establishment in the 4700 block of Southwest Drive.  Upon arrival, it was found that a 19 year old female had removed the price tags from several articles of clothing and then concealed these items.  She then left the store without paying for them.  The total amount of items taken was approximately $200.00.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Theft and Removal of Writing.

 

Finally, at about 5:45 P.M. yesterday afternoon Officer Thomas responded to a call of a possible burglary of a motor vehicle.  He contacted a 33 year old female who was the listed suspect.  It was determined that she was not involved with a vehicle burglary; however, she was highly intoxicated.  During this investigation it was also found that she had taken a package of cigarettes from a south side establishment.  She was placed under arrest for Theft and Public Intoxication.

CRIME REPORT; 01-18-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 6:47 P.M. last night, Officer Scott responded to a possible location of a wanted subject in the 400 block of North Jefferson.  Upon arrival, a 32 year old female was contacted at this residence.  She was found to have an outstanding warrant for Fraudulent Use of I.D.  She was placed under arrest for this warrant.  During a search after the arrest, she was also found to be in possession of cocaine.  She was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

At about 7:17 P.M. last night, Officer Cutbirth responded to a shots fired call in the 400 block of North Jefferson.  During this investigation, a 19 year old female was detained.  It was found that she had a local warrant for her arrest.  She was placed under arrest for this warrant and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

Finally at about 9:56 P.M. last night, Officer Harris and several other officers responded to a possible location of a wanted subject in the 2600 block of Russell. Upon arrival the wanted subject, a 46 year old male, observed the officers and fled on foot into the residence.  The officers chased the subject and contacted him inside the house.  The male subject had a large knife and began to swing the knife at the officers.  The officers were able to get the knife away from the subject and he fled out the back door, where a K-9 officer was waiting on him.  The K-9 assisted the officers in taking the subject to the ground and a struggled ensued.  During this struggle the male subject pulled a handgun.  Officers were able to take the handgun from the subject after he was tased.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Evading Arrest and three felony warrants.

Crime Report; 1/19/2011

 Good Morning! Here is your police report for Wednesday 1/19/2011…

 

At about 4:45 yesterday afternoon, Officer Volirakis was dispatched to a call of a shoplifter in the 4300 block of Southwest Drive. There he contacted store personnel who reported that a person had gone through the self checkout lane and switched some product code tags and scanned the wrong tag on some items, and they had also concealed some items on their person and attempted to leave the store without paying for these items. A 38 year old female was arrested and charged with Theft and Removal of Writing.

 

At about 7:11 last night, Officer Martin Walker stopped a car in the 900 block of Forrest for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. The driver of the car, a 26 year old male, was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant. Circumstances led the officer to ask for a K-9, and the K-9 alerted on the car. A passenger, an 18 year old male was found to be in possession of a useable amount of marijuana. The driver was arrested on the warrant, and the passenger for Class “B” Possession of Marijuana

 

Finally, at about 10:33 last night, Officer Cutbirth was dispatched to a call of a vehicle accident in the 3400 block of S. 1st St. in which a car had run off of the road and hit a motel sign. The driver, at one point, made some attempt to walk away from the accident scene, but was contacted by Officer Cutbirth and found to be intoxicated. The driver, a 37 year old male was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with Accident.

CRIME REPORT; 01-21-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 5:00 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Valentine stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Grape for failing to signal a turn.  A K-9 was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle.  During a search, the driver a 28 year old male was found to be in possession of a useable amount of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

 

At about 11:15 P.M. last night, Officer Collins stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights.  Upon contacting the driver, a 23 year old male, Officer Collins could smell the odor of burnt marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed a useable amount of marijuana.  The driver also admitted to smoking the marijuana.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

 

Finally at about 11:40 P.M. last night, Officer Walker was dispatched to a call of a possible drunk driver.  Officer Walker located the vehicle traveling east bound in the 400 block of East Highway 80.  The vehicle drifted over the lane marker and was failing to maintain a single lane of traffic.  Officer Walker stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver a 21 year old male.  The driver appeared to be intoxicated.  He did perform the field sobriety tests and failed.  He also provided a breath sample that was over the legal limit.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
