Some time about March of 2013, I called the fire-department b/c my carbon-monoxide alarm went off. It turned out to be a false alarm, but what concerned me most was that the fire-department seemed to have great difficulty finding my place.
Because of this experience, it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to have some signage throughout our neighborhood with our last names and arrows pointing to our properties. This is not my idea; many neighborhoods in our area do this.

I have put up this main sign at the entrance to our neighborhood (Bill gave me the 4x4 for this purpose, and Charlotte painted the decorations on the signs):
Since I live at the very end of the road, I also put up this one further down, since Bill's friends always missed his place, came down to my place, and then acted very frightened of me! I don't know why -- I didn't think I looked that scary!:
