Windybush Civic Assn.

Civic Association Meeting 10/22/06

17 people attended the meeting.

Pat Morrison, a Democratic candidate for the State Senate, spoke. One of her main concerns is keeping energy costs in check.

Concerns of those attending the meeting included: speeders; cars on the street that don’t belong; vacant property at 1613 Windybush Rd.; overgrown shrubbery near the street and intersections; people parking cars and boats at the pool and the open access to that lot now that the pool is closed.

We have $45oo in our treasury account after expenditures of $1150 for tree removal on common ground; $1150 for snow removal; donations to the pool of $250 and $100 for the Memorial Day picnic; website charges of $65.

It was decided that dues will remain at $15.00 per household for the 2006-2007 year. Look for your dues letter soon!

Our website is www.windybush.org . In addition to neighborhood updates, it now includes a “virtual” yard sale. You will no longer have to wait until May to sell you goods! Posting your items on the website is free, but a donation of 10% of the selling price is due to WCA after your item is sold. Just e-mail your information to the webmaster; his address is on the website.

Mary Robertson and Kathy Hogan will help to organize social events after Halloween. Larry Davis volunteered to be Vice President. Other officers remain unchanged.

Suggestions: Plantings around our entry sign; a block party; plant exchange; solar lighting for the entry sign. We hope to invite our NCC Community Police Officer to speak at our next meeting.

If you have other suggestions, please e-mail one of the officers.
