National Night Out

On August 2, 2005, Winnwood/Sunnybrook Neighborhood Association had an Ice Cream Social and participated for the first time in National Night Out, America?¡?¦s Night Out
Against Crime.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participate in local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Those that attended our Ice Cream Social enjoyed ice cream sundaes and cookies. The children had a variety of games to play. There were pamphlets and brochures covering a variety of topics including Homeland Security, drug and alcohol prevention and other personal safety information.
