Continued from PART I - Issues for Inner City Voters to look for:
* how do they want to be held
accountability
* how important is the participation
of ''citizens''; and, how they plan to
keep ''citizen participation'' and ''citizen decision making'' in the forefront
* how they will collaborate with the
county government and state
government for better use of ALL
resources
* how effective they are to ''explaining'' catchy sayings,
slogans and sound bytes in their
campaign
* how they reference ''regional''
responsibilities
* how they feel about MPS control
from the Mayor's office
* What can the Mayor's office do to ensure that ex-offenders that are viewed non-threatening, when they return, are given an adequate and fair shot at 'RE-ENTERING THE MILWAUKEE' community?
THE VOTERS
This is a two-way street, therefore, stakeholders must hold themselves accountable.
The voters of Inner City neighborhoods
have such an excellent opportunity of
leaving a legacy for ''self-sustainability'' if we do not fall victim to ''rhetoric'', ''name-sake'',
''hype'', ''slick ads'', ''newspaper reports, well-known people endorsements, spin'',''hyperbole'' and LAZINESS.
Yes. It is paramount that the people running be scrutinized. Each one of them.
That means each voter doing his/her homework by asking questions, by putting issues of the Inner City on the table wherever possible; as often as possible, sharing information with others, going to forums and asking questions, reading about the candidates, calling their campaign sites with follow-up, inviting them to your church, temple, synagog, association, sororities, fraternities, lodges, pool leagues, bowling leagues, day cares, block clubs, book clubs, libraries, town hall meetings, and any other joint venue.
I challenge each voting age individual that live, work, go to school, pay taxes, invest, and grow a family in the Inner City, to take the plunge.
REVIEW THE CANDIDATES!
Put the rhetoric in-check, CALL FOR THE QUESTION.
''Who will see that your voice is heard as a 'priority' in his/her administration and governing of the City of Milwaukee for the duration of time in office?''
If the answer is: ''I WILL'', plus specifics to identify/justify the I Will.
CONNECT THE DOT, MARK THE ''X'', and MONITOR, COMMUNICATE and UPDATE for results.
