Neighborhood Falling Apart

Yes one terrible eyesore is the brown and blue houses corner of El Centro and Calistoga.  Those people are hopeless pigs.

I am not sure if this is open to non-Castle Hills Forest residents because the streets mentioned are not in our neighborhood.  Also, we do not pay funds to an HOA group.  We are run by people who live in our neighborhood and volunteer their time, so our neighborhood will be beautiful.

It also takes the whole neighborhood to be involved.  When we only have less than half of residents being HOA members, we will always have issues.

It takes money to keep up the park, the medians, the dial-a-trailer, the pool.  All these improve our home values, but not everyone is paying.

If you want to see change-join the HOA!

Yes we do have recourse.  My family purchased a home in this neighborhood 2yrs ago. When we purchased we were given a list of COVENANT AGREEMENTS.  These agreements are legally binding to all home owners.  They clearly state what can and can not be done on property or to property owned in this neighborhood. I have already spoken with legal concel about them and they are very strongly upheld in court.  The draw back is our neighborhood association refuses to do anything to enforcre the rules because it only wants to be a social club. The covenant agreements do give any owner the right to take another owner to court for  violation of the agreements.  I have a copy if you want one I will gladly make a copy for anyone.  Also these agreements are on file with the county office.

Anyone can help keep our neighborhood clean and in compliance with the HOA rules and guidlines. I am not a member of the HOA but I have kept up with things that happen. Reporting problems in the neighborhood is the last thing I want to do. I simply don't have time for that stuff but it must be done. It's as simple as taking photos of the problem and enclosing them in either a letter or an e-mail to the HOA. Once they respond to your concern, you can be assured that they will bring up the matter with the person who is not in compliance with community standards.

For instance, I have had problems with trash blown onto our yards. I know that it's not our trash but I pick it up to prevent my neighbors from thinking we did that. I completely understand that nature causes it. I don't belive I have a "Litter Bug" outside my lawn setting us up.Tongue out I have seen trash in several lawns...the sad thing is that it lies there for more than FIVE DAYS! Now that's just pitiful.Yell I personally take action with a complaint to the HOA after two days. I believe that is enough time to give them the chance to clean it up.

Also, it would be nice if pet owners kept their pets either in their house or in the back yard. When walking their pet, they should take a trash bag and gloves and pick up what their critter leaves behind. I have many problems with pet doo in our front yard. The only thing I can do is wait till it dries then pick it up and trash it.
