It's Been A Busy Year

Sep 14, 2000

It has certainly been a very busy summer; what with floods and droughts, storms that took down trees and left us without electricity, a change in trash service and many other things that at this moment escape me.

Thinking about the most recent event in our community takes me to the high winds and rain that we had last week. We were certainly blessed that no one was personally injured by all the falling trees. We did suffer some damaged homes and vehicles and spent the steamy days afterward, cutting, sawing and stacking limbs and stumps. All in all, we faired pretty well.

Very noticeable was the effort displayed by neighbors who went the extra mile and got out to help each other with the clean-up. Despite the fact that we don't all know each other, we still were able to get out and lend a helping hand to get things back to normal as soon as possible.

It is this kind of community spirit that will keep our community afloat. Those who want to see our neighborhood prosper, and have the best interest of the community as a whole at heart, need to continue to look toward the future and not let "nay sayers" discourage the good work that has been done in our area beginnig in 1989.

Keep up the good work neighbors!!!
