Our Neighborhood Story: Woodhayven Neighborhood, in beautiful North Eastern Charlottesville Virginia. With Homes Mostly constructed in the late 1950's. and the final home completed in 1961 along with two habitat for humanity homes constructed in 2006. The neighborhood is mostly single family one story homes. Along with about 12 duplexes on Holmes Ave.
Ever Wonder why the streets in Woodhayven are named what they are? Well good because we have the anwser. Agnese street was named after the developers wife, Agnese.Which is pronounced Ang-nys-se Which is Italian. (SOURCE KGB 542-542) Elizabeth Ave. Was named upon the developer and Agnese's Daughter, Elizabeth. Lili lane was named by Agnese For her Favorite Flower, the Lili, (However the spelling were not too sure about, along with Woodhayven). Holmes Ave was named by the City Of Charlottesville in Ealy 1957, the year the first home was believed to be constructed on Holmes Ave. Note that not all this information is 100% true. We Go by they records in the newspapers in the late '50s
