Ah, the power of communication. In my last message, I made a plea for some support in editing the woodlake Newsleter that is delivered to your mailbox nine times per year. I was expecting it to take months, if not more, to find someone interested in the job.

And then along came Marcy Lorfing. What luck! Marcy has provided all of us with a number of articles and is a great writer. Marcy is also currently editing a newsletter for a senior learning organization at UC Davis.

I met with Marcy in late December and she introduced me to Sammy's on Del Paso Boulevard. I had a delicious grilled cheese with fries while Mardy talked not only about her ideas for the newsletter, but also about the nostalgia that diners like Sammy's giver her.

Marcy understands the value that a neighborhood newsletter like ours brings. It's important to know what's going on in the city, the neighborhood and with our neighbors. I know she'll do a great job and I'm thankful for that small bit of spare time that giving up the job brings me.
