1. 2008 Annual Meeting Notice: Saturday, January 12th, 4:30pm at the Clubhouse. We will elect a Vice President and Treasurer for the next two-year term, discuss dues and have reports from the treasury and committees. We will also discuss any concerns you and your families have. Please contact this board for items you wish to be officially placed on the agenda for discussion. An official meeting notice is enclosed herein.

2. October Children?’s Costume Party: Again, a big success, thanks to the volunteers who made it happen! A portion of our budget helped defray costs. We still need new volunteers and a chairperson for 2008! Ask how to get involved!

3. August National Night Out: Another fun event was organized in 2007. Ask how to get involved!

4. Yard of the Month: Thanks to the work of the Yards Committee and YOU, our concerned gardeners, we had another successful season of getting our neighborhood publicized and holding a high reputation with the City of Norman, through the Cleveland County Master Gardeners, as one of the most well-maintained and colorful communities in town! Repeating the winning yard-owners; June: Sid & Vi Caperton; July: Rudy & Cindy Box; August: Paul & Becky Carpenter

5. May Community Garage Sale: Let us know of your interest; watch for updates.

Neighborhood News / Issues

1. Ice Storm Debris: We thank the folks who have placed community so high on their list and volunteered time, tools, labor, refreshments and overall camaraderie and good cheer to make such wonderful progress after the record storm! Cleanup will be ongoing for many weeks and the City of Norman should slowly get through town to us. There is much more to do, and those who see an eyesore and/or want to help, call the board and we?’ll get ?‘er done!! Also, if you?’re in need of help...PLEASE CALL!

2. Street Parking : Try to avoid it! Winter roads can bring trouble. Vandalism reports are on the rise. Please consider using your garage for your vehicles and not storage of household items. Also remember that more citations will be issued for blocking sidewalk passage across driveways.

3. Fences: Many of our old fences needing repairs have been replaced or worked on. Thank you for getting with your immediate neighbors on the need, timing, and cost-sharing. Feel free to contact this association for professional references. And please remember to refer to the Covenants or contact the board if you are unsure of the regulations on choosing and erecting fencing material.

4. Our Pool and Clubhouse Area: We thank Debbie Carlson (and Norm) for again giving so much of themselves in keeping our pool up to the high standards required by city, county and state codes and regulations. Please keep abreast of any new signs in the pool area and subsequent notices. We also thank the bathroom-cleaning volunteers who have insured a safe and clean experience when using our public facilities: Donna Shaw, Alicia Salcido, Patty Franzese, Christine Lentz. Please pitch in by tidying up after yourselves and your children!
For clubhouse reservations contact Patty Bracey at 701-8710 (back-up: Patty Franzese). Join us in thanking them for volunteering for this needed function!
Playground Enhancement: Completed in July. Thanks to the folks who helped us with insights, repairs, replacement and painting! Please play safely and report unsafe acts.

4. Neighborhood Watch: We will be trying to re-introduce/revamp our watch program, including additional volunteers to serve as Block Captains. The success of this important endeavor depends on volunteerism and the understanding of the needs. Info can be found on our website (below).
