Noise Pollution

Posted in: Sharpstown

We have had the same problems with our neighbors as well... unfortunately, we are  surrounded by rental houses and it's hit or miss with new renters and their consideration.  I have had to call the constable's office for late night noise before.  It generally helps for a little while.  The last neighbor I had problems with didn't like being woken up by a constable at 3am either so they left soon after.  Our neighbors are much better now.  Noise polution is a big issue of mine as well.  I didn't move out here to have the same problems as apartment living, of my youth.  Another issue I have is with the teenagers/young adults and their lound bass music when driving throgh the neighborhood.  We hear it all the time and it drives me crazy.  I wish there was a way to get it to stop.

I don't know if the Houston ordinances apply to us or not... since we don't live in the Houston City limits.  It's worth a try though.  I would be interested to hear from someone who knows for sure what ordinances do apply to us.

I have the same problem. I live in Memorial Falls and it's been a while since I hear cars in and out of the subdiv. with loud music. There is this one car, gold Ford Taurus with chrome rims, that parades in and out of the subdivision with loud music. This car is very suspicious because he does it all times during the day as well as in the middle of the night. Right now (12:42 am) I have heard him come in and out 4 TIMES with his music. What is the number for the police in our area? I need to get the license plates to report him.

NoiseFreeTexas.org is a grassroots online petition drive and we need your help!

Since Texas is the only state in the Union that does not grant County Land Use Regulations, our noise ordinance of 85 decibels is the law of our Texas lands.

NoiseFreeTexas.org is in response to this unreasonable 85 decibel level.  We are requesting our State legislature lower this down to 60 decibels, sundown to sunup.

NoiseFreeTexas.org seeks to insure that all property owners and renters can get a decent night’s sleep, every night of the year.  Once in awhile a noisy neighbor will disturb sleep.  A polite phone call usually quells the noise.  Most sheriffs’ departments will respond to a noise disturbance call, but this can happen over and over and over again, and gets old for all involved.  Our State statute needs to change so everyone’s rights and health are protected.

Please consider signing our petition.  A noisy business can move in right next door to your subdivision, and nothing can stop it.  We need your help and signature so peace and quiet will be the norm in our beautiful rural areas.

Thank you in advance.

Good Neighbors Keep Their Noise To Themselves

Hi I have the same problem,  my neighbour likes to start playing snooker at 9:30 and if this is his day off then all bets are off  he will play and blast music till 2 am in the morning.  I have just moved here about 9 months ago and this has been a constant issue,  I have wrote to HOA and ACII association  with no results.  Calling the cops really help the issue for only a little while more like 20 min and once the cop is gone the music and hollering is back up.  with small and school going kids at my house this has become a living nightmare to come home and see that garage door open and hear the music

Anyone has any idea's how to handle it any suggestion will be helpfull .
