In the spring of 2004, one generous WPNA resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated funds to re-establish the popular Yard-of-the-Month competition of the early 1990's. The seed money was banked, a committee was formed, and bright cheerful signs were designed and delivered.
Every month from May through September, two hard-working residents of Woodland Park each received a $50.00 gift certificate from Horn's Seed Company AND the attractive sign placed in their front yard declaring them the lucky recipient of the highly-coveted award.
This beautification award not only looks for "green thumb" projects but also goes to homes that have "cleaned up their act" so to speak; properties that were previously run-down and now "sparkle" with a fresh coat of paint; or front yards that have simply spiffed things up a bit.
So get out those hoes and shovels or paint and hammers and get to work. Good Luck!!!
