There have been requests for the return of lighting at the bocce courts, both by the Bastone Bocce League members for playing purposes and by neighbourhood residents for safety reasons.
I have just been informed by the Parks Dept. that, following some repair work to the lights, they will be turned on until 8:15 p.m. This should help give some lighting to those walking on Van Cortlandt Park East. |

About two months ago, I was approached by several VCPE residents about having the lights again turned on at the bocce courts for safety reasons. I relayed the request to the Parks Dept. (Sorry for the delay in reporting back.) |
