From Assemblyman Marcos Crespo on January 27, 2014:

As part of the New York City Police Department’s continuing efforts to keep its community partners advised of pertinent information and occurrences, this e-mail is forwarded to you as an advisory of an upcoming event that may impact you.

On Wednesday, January 29, the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct a test flight intercept of two Customs & Border Patrol aircraft by the United States Air Force. The test flight will originate in the vicinity of the Tappan Zee Bridge, southbound along the Hudson River, over Yonkers, crossing into the Bronx, and out over Long Island.

The test flight will occur at approximately 4:30 a.m. What this means is that you, your friends, and/or your neighbors, may become alarmed by the sound of fighter jets over your homes. The aircraft will be traveling at an altitude of 11,000 feet; however it is an unfamiliar sound that may awaken sleeping residents and cause concern.
