The other day I came home and discovered that someone had been in my garage and backyard. A bike was knocked over in the garage and the lock was removed from my back gate. I reported this to the WP police chief, and he took down some details.
Today I came home and one of my sliding glass doors was slightly open (luckily, there was a stick in the door to prevent it from being opened wider). Then I went out the front door and saw that my hose had been disconnected. Thinking this was weird, I walked around to the other side of my house, and found the screen was removed from one of the basement windows.
I called my nephew, who is a police officer with LMPD. I described the situation, and he advised me to make a report to LMPD, not just WP police. An officer came out and took a report and took some pictures. When I went to show the officer where the screen was out of the window, I found the lock that had been on the gate. Maybe some fool thought he could break a window with a little lock, I don't know.
Anyway, the officer told me about the graffiti problems on the railroad tracks (which I hadn't known about, so that's when I checked this website). The officer said that there is a lot of vandalism/graffiti/pot smoking going on around the neighborhood, especially around the RRX.
I just wanted to give everyone (well, everyone who checks the website) some info about what is going on. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Several break ins

There were numerous break ins reported today to LMPD in Woodlawn Park and Windy Hills, these happened between 10am and 5pm today. Everyone be sure to watch out for out of place vehicles. An older brown pickup with noisy exhaust was seen driving in the neighborhood today shortly before the break ins were reported, though they may not have been the suspects, if you see a noisy pickup take down the plate and call 574-7111.
