The 2014 Rising Star Scholarship application packet is now available! Awards are $1,000 each and are issued before the fall semester of 2014.

The Rising Star Scholarship Program is a partnership between Resident Services, Inc (RSI) and the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) that provides need and merit based scholarships to students who have been accepted to accredited higher learning institutions. The program is to encourage academic excellence and foster leadership potential in young people. The program was launched in 2009 thanks to a generous contribution from a local construction company.

Eligibility:
• Must be on the lease and a current resident of HABC public housing, rehabilitated housing, or the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)
• A high school senior graduating in 2014 who has been accepted for admission or awaiting acceptance into anaccredited college or university
• Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or greater on a 4.0 scale
