Dogs and our neighborhood

Posted in: Woodshire Civic Club

We recently moved to the great neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the number of people out and about in the area and noticed how many have dogs. Sadly I soon noticed that some of the dog owners do not clean up after their dogs. I find this especially bothersome since we have small kids who play in our front yard.  I have seen people simple let their dogs (small ones) run free while they walk.  I can’t count the times I have had to clean up my yard after a dog has decided to releive himself in it. Sometimes the dogs make it all the way to the flower beds and go there.

I don’t know what it takes to get people to take care of their animal’s waste properly. I walk my dog and carry two bags in case he decides to go. Clean up takes all of 10 seconds and then we are on our way.

I have even noticed a person in the neighborhood with a no defecating sign in their yard. Do we really need to have to go this far?

The sad thing is probably 95% of people I have seen clean up after their dog. It is this small percent that ruin things for all of us.

I can't be the only person who feels this way
