The Women's Club is planning the annual pre-Trick-or-Treat Costume party at the pool on October 31st. This is a fun way to get in the Halloween spirit before you go to gather your treats in the neighborhood. You'll be there, right? Look for details in the October Villager.
This year, the Women's Club has a special request. Some of you may have heard about the BACK TO NATURE WILDLIFE REFUGE on east Highway 50, abouth 6 1/2 miles east of Alafaya Trail. the people at the Refuge are dedicated to the 4 R's - - Rescue, Raise, Rehabilitate, and Release. They treat and rear sick, injured or orphaned wild animals. If you happen to find an injured squirrel or an abandoned baby possum, the people at the Refuge will be happy to take care of the animal until it is well enough to return to the wild. It is a non-profit organizations which relies on donations to operate. They are in need of many items for their work. Don't you think it would be nice if our neighborhood could contribute to this worthy cause by donating a few items? Here is a partial list of things they could really use:
CLEAN, USED TOWELS, SHEETS, BLANKETS
DRY AND CANNED DOG AND CAT FOOD
JARS OF BABY FOOD (VEGETABLE TYPE)
DRY BABY CEREAL (MIXED TYPE)
PAPER TOWELS, WET WIPES
RAISINS, PEANUT BUTTER, 1 GALLON ZIPLOCK BAGS, PEDIALYTE (UNFLAVORED), BLEACH, DAWN DISH SOAP
Talk it over with your parents - we hope you'll decide to bring something with you to the party to help out our wildlife friends.
