GENERAL MEETING

Call to Order By Danny Amat, Chair at 7:03 P.M.

Board Member Role Call:

Community Planner?’s Report: Steve Gerhardt. The city has demolished two problem multi-unit dwellings on the 1900 block of Henderson.
Guest Speakers

* Police Specialist Noor Ismael gave crime statistics and invited all of Wrigley to the West Divisions 10th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 6, from 10 am to 2 pm.
* Commander Rich Meyer of the LBPD Communication division and Officer Anne Nichols spoke on 911-dispatch policy and procedures. The two numbers to call are 911 and 435-6711, both of which can be used to report emergencies. For emergencies involving animals, call 570-PETS.
* Mario Cordero, President of the Board of Harbor commissioners spoke on port security and pollution issues involving the port. He explained the Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP), Transportation Worker Identification Program (TWIP), as well as methods of port security from container tracking to portable monitors to scan for radiation. He requested citizens to contact the Port Commissioners to support the CAAP and TWIP.
* Dee Andrews, 6th district Councilman, reported a successful Project Impact Cleanup in a nearby area of the 6th and promised to bring one soon to Wrigley.
* Tonia Reyes Uranga, 7th district Councilwoman: spoke about events planned for 7t h district.
* CPAC Report & Pacific Avenue: focused on the streetscape designs brought forward for Pacific Avenue by the consultants and presented at the August NAG meeting. They will come back to the community in two months with more refined plans based upon the input they received. Also, there are plans for a temporary Community Garden when the buildings on Henderson have been fully cleared.

Treasurer?’s Report: Greenfeld-Wisner. Total Wrigley Association funds are $6,045.37; $1521.97 are restricted to 1) Wrigley Is Going Green $822.00 2) Landscape $226.47 2) Sign Fund $226.00 3) Christmas Tree Lane $247.50. Unrestricted funds balance: $4,523.40

Neighborhood Pride: Herman. Thank you to Ingrid Martinez and El Pollo Campero at the Wrigley Marketplace for providing full chicken dinners for 75 for meeting attendees.

Tree Committee: Lisa Wiebroe, Brenda Martinez. Their fundraiser netted $822.00. They are working with LBUSD to make the tree planting on November 3rd one that high school students can log community service hours at. contact:wrigleyisgoinggreen@hotmail.com

Halloween in Veterans Park: October 31

Next Wrigley Association meeting is November 5.

Wrigley Classic fun run is scheduled for Spring, 2008.
