Call to Order at 7:07 P.M.
Board Member Role Call:
?• Present: Amat, Carlton, Graeber, Greenwood-Wisner, Hill, McKiernan, Norvell, Risch and Tolkoff.

Input to the Board from Members
It was announced that there will be a hazardous waste collection on Oct 14th at Vet?’s Stadium

Community Planner Comments ?– Steve Gerhardt gave the report.
A newsletter is available
Wrigley Marketplace ?– A bank is coming into the closed restaurant location.
Pacific Avenue ?– A group was picked to start the project
1925 Pacific Avenue ?– (A storefront church) Scheduled for City Council Hearing 10/17.
Code Enforcement Meeting ?– The meeting are not open to the general public due to the confidential issues discussed.

Public Safety Update - Noor Ismail gave the report.
She distributed the crime stats. West division meeting on 10/25 at 6:00 P.M., 1835 Santa Fe

CPAC- Alan Tolkoff gave the report.
Redevelopment Board actions ?– The City has purchased several properties

Christmas Tree Lane Report- Maria Norvell gave the report.
?• Volunteers are needed to help. Sign up for the following events and days:
?• December 9th ?– Parade Day,December 2nd , Work day
?• December 8th, Contest Night, December 10, 15,16, & 18, Entertainment Nights
Mayor office is working on donation from organization. Help maybe needed to find a new Santa for the Fire Department float.

Sign Project Report ?– Jill Hill gave the report
Jill is working to replace the sign that was destroyed by a car accident.

Program: Gillis Monroe, Public Works
Side Walk Program ?– Every tree is evaluated where sidewalk repair is being done. There was no policy regarding trees, now with the help of Councilmember Richardson a policy is being developed. A report on each tree, whether they should be replaced. A meeting will be held on 10/19 at 6:00 P.M, 2760 Studebaker, to discuss the tree policy. The committee has 16 members. Art Cox, Street Maintenance, was also present, he can be reached at 570-2700.
The 1st Step is that the City posts the tree and then there is an appeal process.
M/S/C ?– Wrigley Association to send letter to Public Works that for the next 60 days that no trees be removed, except trees where there are no problem or issue.
Suzanne Frick ?– Director of Planning and Building
A power point presentation was given. The Department reviewed the services.
A customer Bill of Rights was developed. There was a question if City also considers the rights of the neighborhood residents.

Council Comments
6th District: Laura Richardson
There is a 1.6 million dollar surplus in the City budget.
The recycling center is now closed, as well as, the Motel north of it.
She supports the Tree Committee and supports its discussion.
7th District: Tonia Reyes Uranga
The Councilwoman asked if there are people interested in helping on the Tree committee for the 7th District. Port of Long Beach is holding an open house.

Assemblywoman Betty Karnette spoke
She spoke and stated that the Governor signed several of the bills she authored.
