What you want. The uniform can idea was previously discussed and pushed for by the now defunct Solid Waste & Recycling Advisory Committee. It seems that the current council and mayor didn't want to listen to the advice from that committee so the committee members all resigned in protest.
It wasn't exactly a real exciting committee to be on like Zoning or Planning or the DDA, so either the mayor can't find anybody new or thinks that there is no need for such a group's input. So now you have to write or go directly to the council to tell them what you want. Your idea is a good one and you are right about the system being able to be amended or altered. The difficult part will be getting them to change it. It might be easier to get some new council members in April 2005 than getting them to listen to you and to be open to your ideas. Good luck on your efforts, I try to get them to listen to my ideas without much success but you have to keep trying or things will never change.
