John Forbes Kerry, who is he?

Posted in: Wyandotte
The end

On Jan. 11, 1991, you said that going to war was abandoning 'the theory of deterrence.' Was it not a tad late to deter Iraqi aggression? The next day you said, 'I do not believe our nation is prepared for war.' How did unpreparedness subsequently manifest itself? ... On Jan. 22, 1991, responding to a constituent opposed to the Gulf War, you wrote 'I share your concerns' and would have given sanctions more time. Nine days later, responding to a voter who favored the war, you wrote, 'I have strongly and unequivocally supported President Bush's response to the crisis.' Did you have a third position?... You oppose immediate termination of U.S. involvement in Iraq, and you opposed the $87 billion to pay for involvement. Come again? In 1994, the year after the first attack on the World Trade Center, you voted to cut $1 billion from counter-terrorism activities. In 1995 you proposed a $1.5 billion cut in intelligence funding. Are you now glad that both proposals were defeated?''

? This is not the kind of leader America needs at this time. ?  ?  KT

What Is the Purpose of Posting

I can't believe that this posters went on for so long bashing Kerry. I always try to politely remind posters of the purpose of this site and I don't believe that these type of postings relate to issues or concerns about our city.

But I will give this poster the benefit of my doubt and say that it does relate to Wyandotte. I assume that if one dislikes Kerry so much that they must think Bush is such a better choice. I for one have not seen any great intelligence or leadership coming out of the current president. I don't feel that we are so much safer now that he toppled Hussien but still can't seem to find Osama.

I'm not happy that our soldiers lives are being lost in a country that doesn't understand or want a Democractic form of government and would instead prefer to be ruled by its religious leaders. I'm not happy with all the money being spent in Iraq and much less being available for our states and local governments. I'm not happy with tax cuts for the rich that result in less revenue sharing so that I have to pay more fees and local taxes to make up the shortages. I'm not happy that over 3 million manufacturing jobs have been lost to third world countries that allow slave labor conditions and have no concern for their environment. I'm not happy that large corporations only concern seems to be the enrichment of its greedy executives at the expense of its little guy workers.

So I don't care if you want to label Kerry a Liberal but if he can fix some of these problems, I say he is a better choice than the current president who doesn't seem to care what happens to the average Joe American. I beleive the current president's economic policies will result in the complete elimination of the ''middle class''. There will be the very rich and the rest of us will all be in the poor or lower class. Just my thoughts from a caring sometimes Liberal Democrat.

Dear Patrick,

I think discussing a possible president of the United States qualifies as ''relating'' to issues of our city. Aren't we a part of the United States?

RP -

I'm sure you know that asided from KT's eloquent observation, that the first thing he plans to do IF elected, is to overturn the law that says my tax dollars will fund abortion in 3rd world countries. I've done my homework and do not do business with companies that promote/defend abortion, and I am CERTAINLY not going to cast my vote for a man who wants to dig into my pockets for paying for the destruction of pre-born human beings.
