The Wyandotte Boat Club offers adult learn to row classes every summer. The experienced coaches at the WBC provide an introduction to the sport of rowing, at a level that everyone can have fun and learn from.
Anyone over the age of 21 is invited to participate. You don't have to be an "athlete", but rowing is a sport that takes some work and sweat. This is a basic course for adults who have never rowed and those with basic skills.
You will learn one of the two basic forms of rowing, called sweep rowing. In sweep, you will have one large oar that you hold with both hands. During the session you will learn the vocabulary of rowing, learn proper style, and of course row on the Detroit River.
The sessions run from mid-June until September. The 2006 season will be the eighth year of the program. We had over 50 participants in 2005. The next session starts mid-June 2006 with For more info visit www.wyandotteboatclub.com
