Bush Tax Cuts Are Dangerous

without him limiting Federal spending. He has not vetoed one spending bill since he took office. Even the conservatives in his own party are upset that he does nothing to rein in spending.

His tax cut strategy was designed before 9-11, before Afganistan, before Iraq, and before those tremendous projected budget surpluses had evaporated.

FY2003 deficit came in at slightly under $500 billion, FY2004 is projected at over $500 billion for a total Federal Deficit of around $2.5 Trillion by September 2004.

See my posting under 6.8 voters. I think this poster might know something about interest rates and the cost of carrying debt. If interest rates ever got to the high rates that we had a little over 10 years ago, that $2.5 Trillion debt load would stagnate our economy so bad that we would welcome tax increases or any other drastic measures to get our economy out of the deep pit that it would be in.
