Minutes for the February meeting were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Report (Bob motioned / Martin seconded). As of February 21, we have $45, 088.92 in the bank. Almost all dues have been paid by homeowners, thanks to the hard work Charles has put in to taking to small claims court residents who have failed, despite many reminders, to pay annual dues.
Old Business:
Charles did meet with Mr. Ed Nelson, a landscaper, about replacing dead pine trees along National Turnpike and the front lake. Mr. Nelson gave us several variations of the cost for planting 47 trees. We decided to have 5-6 ft. trees (11 ___) at a cost of $6856, the least of the prices quoted. Martin moved, Bob seconded that we wait until the fall to do this planting so summer watering would not be an issue. This passed.
Mark is still working on getting someone to set traps for our muskrats.
Murry will contact MSD about clearing the ditch behind Declaration. In our newsletter, everyone needs to be reminded not to throw discarded trees into the lakes. These clog up the exit points.
