The following Directors were elected, each without opposition, to serve as officers for 2007:
President - Dr. Charles Owen
Vice President - Donnie Faulkner
Secretary - Linda Duncan
Treasurer - Vicki Welch
The Minutes for November and December were read and approved without amendment.
The Treasurer's Report was read and held for approval at the February meeting, when Vicki can be here. As of December 21, 2006, we show a balance of $55,089.77 in the bank.
Old Business:
Of the 12 households who had not paid annual dues, 7 have since paid and 1 has lost their property to auction. The remaining property owners will have to settle in Small Claims Court.
The fence line along Mr. Johns's peoperty has been cleaned out by P&R so that Penrod can finish putting in the fence from Old North Church Rd. to the ditch, at a cost of $4,150. Mr. Johns threatened a lawsuit if P&R made permanent ruts on his property, but no permanent ruts were created.
Murray has been talking to MSD about a permanent solution to the lake erosion. He will tell us when MSD commits to that solution.
New Business:
Muskrats are doing lakeside damage again. Charles asked Mark to contact the service we used before to set traps out again in March.
Linda will contact landscaper Ed Nelson to evaluate what we need in the way of tree-replacement along National Turnpike, where many of our pine trees have died and left big gaps in the fence-line.
Christie reports seeing many yards with tire tracks through them where someone has been driving through yards. Linda suggested we use some of our designated security funds to offer as reward money when tips lead to the identificaton of those committing crimes / acts of vandalism in our neighborhood. Residents will be notified of the reward offering whenever such acts are reported. We will include this notice in our next newsletter.
Block Watch will begin meeting in April. Officer Chris Boyer will be attending those meetings.
Christie agreed to draft a letter to MSD,a letter we all will be able to send, reminding them of our need for them to work on stopping the erosion of our basin, which helps hold rain run-off in our area. If we make our complaints known to MSD, then maybe we can make more money available to our district to handle these problems.
