As the new year approaches, we look at what we have done and what we plan to accomplish in the upcoming 2002. Among other things, we want to especially focus on expanding several of our programs that focus on community interactions. I want to take this opportunity to share what work we have in progress.
Neighborhood Interactive Music Program ?– this group music program was designed for children in the neighborhood communities. It pursues two main goals: first, to give children access to learning the basics without leaving their neighborhood. Second, it helps the YMOC?’s Music School to single out the most gifted students and give them an opportunity to further study music, especially if financial situation of their families would not permit them to do so through private lessons.
From August 1998 to the present time, our students demonstrated their accomplishments by performing in REGULAR CONCERTS conducted in Halls of JCC, Hertzl School, Wells Music Haws Hall, and Olde Towne Chapel Hall.
Now we offer the INTERACTIVE NEIGHBORHOOD MUSIC PROGRAM. Our organization brings music education in close proximity to kids, therefore eliminating the hassle associated with lessons. This Program is specifically designed for children of housing neighborhoods through the cooperation with Home Owners. GRANDCHILDREN TO GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM has been in operation since September 1999. CMS students successfully perform for the residents of Allied Jewish Apartments, Shalom Park and Grand Court. Series of recitals RENAISSANCE: From Beethoven?’s days to 21st Century take place at Olde Towne Chapel quarterly.
