My wife and I have been renting this property since March 1978. We have seen this neighborhood evolve, as residents have been born, died, moved in and moved out for over thirty years. We watched the older, run-down homes on Division street get torn down and replaced after the railroad track were removed. Some addresses are privately owned and occupied, and many are rental properties. Some addresses are well-maintained, and others not so much.

My wife and I had one toddler daughter when we moved in, and another was born in 1979. They are both grown and gone now.

I have always felt safe here. In thirty years I have had one bicycle and one lawnmower stolen. That's it. There has been crime in the neighborhood, but we have been mostly untouched.

We always make an effort to meet new neighbors when they move in, and have developed some lasting friendships in this manner. I like to know who my neighbors are and what they're about, but I always respect their privacy.
