Dear Allston Board of Trade Member,
I would like to thank you for your continued support of and membership in the Allston Board of
Trade. A neighborhood thrives through a strong partnership between residents and businesses. My first experience with this relationship was in 1966 when I was a member of the Ringer Park Indians sponsored by the Model Café in Union Square. The compassion the Anthony family displayed for the Allston community so many years ago stills exists today through your business. Because of your membership The Allston Board of Trade in partnership with the Honan 5K and Honan Charitable Foundation annually awards a minimum of $3,000 in scholarships, this month the ABOT through the support of NSTAR and Boston College contributed $5,100 toward the holiday lights and over the years the ABOT has donated thousands of dollars to local charities. In addition to the charitable and civic projects that the Allston Board of Trade supports we continue to work with Boston Police, the City of Boston’s Licensing Department and local elected and civic officials on community business issues.
During 2013 I will be working to both grow the number of members in the ABOT and increase the visibility that the ABOT and our members receive. Over the next few months I will be going door to door to businesses in Allston to introduce them to the ABOT. I would appreciate your reaching out to me with any ideas for attaining these goals and your assistance
in spreading the word to potential new members.
I am excited and honored to act as your president and wish you and your family a healthy and happy New Year.
Best Regards,
Joe Walsh
ABOT
President
