The Wheaton Citizens Coaliiton (WCC) was organized in April, 1995. Its objectives are (1) to advocate for and promote activities that enhance community stability and vitality; (2) to serve as a medium for dissemination and exchnge of information; and (3) to provide a unified voice on issues such as zoning, housing, schools, highways/traffic, revitalization, crime, the environment and other community concerns.
WCC works with organizations such as the Wheaton-Kensington Chamber of Commerce, the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board, the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee, Wheaton Redevelopment Advisory Committee and other Montgomery County Civic and homeowner organizations to promote common goals.
WCC community-wide meetings are held semi-annually in the Fall and Spring, and other meetings may be scheduled by the Steering Committee or the President. The Steering Committee meets monthly.
Membership is open to any person who resides within Wheaton and who is interested in the objectives of the WCC. Dues are $5.00 per household annually. For organizations $15.00 annually.
