Happy Hanukkah 2010

Hi,
I hope that all is well with you. We were up in NJ for the Thanksgiving and wedding festivals last week. I cannot even begin to tell you how beautiful the ceremony and party was. Not to mention how gorgeous and handsome the bride and groom are. We had our Thanksgiving and rehearsal dinner all rolled up in one. Everything went off without a hitch!!
Lee and John are doing great. They are house hunting and getting ready for the baby. Bob and I are so blessed not only to have two great kids, but in their marriages, they gave us two more. They both come from fabulous families. Life does not get better than this.
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and I want to wish all a very Happy Chanukah.
Love you all,
Ava and Bob

Good OLD Auntie Lois

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This year we hosted our sixth Thanksgiving dinner in our home of seven years. It was great to have a houseful of people and all the yummy food.
The big news is that Elizabeth will be traveling to Israel this month for a little over 2 weeks as part of a cohort of 20 teens from the Boston area.
Sadly she will miss 6 days of school and her Chorus concert. But, this is an amazing opportunity. Last spring Elizabeth applied and was accepted to be a Diller Teen Fellow. The Diller Teen Fellows is a highly selective national program open to 20 Jewish teens in the Boston area. Teens were selected based on their leadership aptitude, commitment to Jewish learning, passion for serving community, and ability to contribute to a diverse and well balanced group dynamic. Accepted fellows in the 2010-2011 class hail from
Boston area.
Throughout the year they will: gain real leadership experience question, search, and be challenged by what Judaism means to them lead others to plan service learning projects with impact experience a cultural exchange with Israeli teens Communicate as pen pals
Host each other with home hospitality
Plan community service projects to lead together in Boston and Israel
explore Israeli culture during a two-week Israel Winter Seminar learn and grow during a transformative experience which looks amazing on their college resume.
The time commitment is quite intense. In addition to the trip to Israel,
there are 8 Sunday workshops, 3 community service projects and 3 Shabbatons/weekend retreats.
Elizabeth is having a blast so far. She's made some wonderful new friends.
This has really been an incredible opportunity for her.
Happy Hanukkah to all!

Edna, Paul, Elizabeth and Shayna

Hi Here is news from the Connecticut Fines.
Jenna Mushin tried out in New York for America's Got Talent. She will hear back from them in March 2011. Jenna is an aspiring singer and her audition went very well.
Destany Funteral-Fine made Honor Roll for the first marking period. We all celebrated a gala dual birthday party for Anne and David Fine.
The Fine side of the family got to meet Andrew's girl friend Cheryl.
We also celebrated Thanksgiving at Paul and Edna's house. Eileen, Destany, and I had a great time.

Hi,
To start off; Sue, Nadav and Larry would like to wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah.
Where to begin;

Nadav has entered into a new realm of reality and some may think it is the Twilight Zone, but it really the Outer Limits. He is a freshman in high school and the strange phenomenon is that he states he needs to study. He is also very active in post school activities, which are keeping us very busy. I believe the hardest point in Nadav growing up is that he is now taller than me.
For myself, I am in a transition phase with my contractor position being converted to government service. You know the government, they like to ague over everything before the obvious conclusion is determined and a decision is formulated.
Sue is doing well and continues to enlighten her preschool students with thought provoking activities involving Jewish life, holidays and rituals that we all perform or not and of course the Hebrew language.
My Love and thoughts of happier times to come in the future.
Larry

Hi,everyone
I am enclosing a picture of the kasha knishes I made for Thanksgiving. Thanks to Aunt Anne who e-mailed me the family secret and to all the willing tasters at my table this year, including Gary, my mother and father, Elaine, Aurora, and my mother-in-law Anne Moeller.
The knishes tasted better than they look in this picture and were kind of like the ones Bubby Korman used to make. This weekend for Hanukkah, I plan to try making the potato knishes. I think I have a clearer memory of what they tasted like (nothing like anything else on this earth!) Zichrona bracha, I love to think about Bubby Korman..she was the ideal grandmother to me.
Happy Hanukkah to you all!
Meanwhile, things are okay here. We are blessed to share many wonderful times with Elaine and both my awesome parents. Gary's job had a shake-up in November when his boss, the volunteer Director and primary benefactor of The National Bottle Museum, passed away suddenly. The Board has decided to keep the museum running as long as it is financially feasible and Gary will keep his position there, as the late Director's husband will take over as Director.
Aurora has been struggling through some tough times since she left college last November, but she keeps busy by baking in the volunteer bakery at our Temple. She'll come through this difficulty, just keep a prayer for her, please.
I am still working at a practice in Albany. The long commute helps me get my daily fill of NPR and books on CD since I lost my carpool-er last year. I am teaching 4th grade Hebrew Wednesday eves. and co-teach Judaica studies on Sundays to the B'nai Mitzvah students at our Temple. What can I say? It keeps me off the streets.
Hope to hear from you, my dear family, and maybe see you soon for something good, too.
Love, Bunny Moeller-Bloom (and in abstentia, the rest of the Moellers.)

With great sadness the following obituary:

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Celia (Green) Korman, resident of North Attleboro, Massachusetts for 50 years, died on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 in North Providence, Rhode Island after a short illness. She was the former wife of Melvin Korman.
