That's right! I got tired or the grey cube forest and tossed off the corporate yoke, leaving the grind behind. After 12 years programming, databases, games, multimedia, and office products, I found my one true love, Video Editing and Motion Graphics.
Now I work as a freelance Digital Video Editor.
Ok occasionally I still do a website, but only under duress. Hense, my own needs work.
I've been editing now for over 3 years and someday I hope to work on some high-end features.
Currently, I'm working on an independant feature film called ''Blue Collar Blues''. I'm editing it with Final Cut Pro3. Occassionally, I get to do some fun motion graphics. Some of that work can be seen on my webiste. And sometimes my collaboration with the director goes pretty far. I actually scripted one scene, set up the shots and the blocking and it looks like I might also hold one of the cameras during the shoot.
''Blue Collar Blues'' is about a woman suddenly meeting the love of her life, while she goes through menopause, and juggles it all with a job as a Medical Specalist, only to get dragged into a murder mystery toward the end. Once I finish the trailer I'll put a link on my working website.
Another thing I busy myself with is giving back to the creative community by teaching Final Cut Pro at a school in Anaheim. Sure, I get paid for it, but it's also a way to share what I know and help aspiring editors or old time cutters enjoy the ease of editing with Final Cut Pro.
