This home is a registered National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat. The wonderful nutritious ''wild'' plants are encouraged to thrive here, and the local birds, lizards, opossums, and beneficial insects are also welcomed.
Two rooms are designated for international exchange students. Currently, a lovely young woman from Japan is enjoying a ''second home'' here. She greatly enjoys our foster dog Beauty, as dogs aren't that common in her home city.
Christopher and i recently took our student on a tour of downtown Los Angeles, including a drive through Chinatown, a stop in Little Tokyo, and a very fast drive through Skid Row. The photo shows us window shopping in Little Tokyo. We ended our outing with lunch at La Golondrina on Olvera Street.
