JTCA's Trail Watchdog
John Prokop has been working with the County and the City in an effort to get the Pinellas Trail cleaned up and better maintained. John was featured in Sunday (Jun 18,2000) Neighborhood Times of the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper for his diligent efforts to clean up the span of the trail that runs within our neighborhood boundries. John recently walked the Trail with Andrew Meacham, Times Correspondent and Jerry Cummings (Pinellas County Park Supervisor) has offered to walk the trial with John & other residents concerned with it's upkeep.
John has suggested that the Jungle Terrace Civic Association award business's along the trail who 'clean up their act.' The first certificate would go to Richard's Whole Foods at 3455 Tyrone Blvd, whose owners put up a bicycle rack and plan to install a picnic table as a rest stop for pedestrians.
''I want to be proud of where I live,'' John said in the Times article. Well John, your neighborhood is sure proud of you!
