The Association of Records Managers and Administrators, Inc. (ARMA) is a non-profit international management association formed July 1, 1975 to promote a scientific interest in records and informationa management. The objectives are to provide a forum for research and the exchange of ideas and knowledge; to foster professionalism; to develop and promulgate workable standards and practices; and to furnish a source of records and information management guidance. ARMA has chapters in the United States and Canada and is affiliated with the International Records Management Federal (I.R.M.F.) and its organizations in South Africa, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
Local chapters and regional seminars, plus the annual ARMA International Conference, offer meetings on a regular basis to exchange ideas, discuss problems, and hear speakers who are knowledgeable in various areas of records and information management.
