National Records and Information
Management Week

In year 2001, National Records and Information Management Week will be the first week in April. In commemorating the week long event, the Nashville Chapter of ARMA will present its Annual One-Day Seminar on April 3rd. The title of the
program is "Establishing and Managing Successful Records Management Programs". The event will be held in the BellSouth Building, Downtown Nashville.
Dr. Mark Langemo, CRM, will conduct this year's program. Dr. Langemo is a Professor Emeritus in the College of Business and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota. A Senior Professor at UND from 1972 to May of 1999,
he was the Coordinator of UND's highly successful major in Information Management ?— a program with a heavy records management emphasis. He has
over 34 years of experience as a university professor of Records Management, MIS, Office Systems Management, and related Information Management courses.
Dr. Langemo has maintained an active involvement in business and professional development work himself. He has been a records management seminar leader, consultant, or speaker in 45 of the Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii,
several Canadian provinces, Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, and in Europe. His over 500 records management seminars and his consulting has involved work for the U. S. and Canadian governments, states and provincial governments,
city and county governments, major corporations such as 3M and General Mills, health care organizations, energy and power companies, accounting firms, banks, educational institutions, law firms, professional associations, small businesses, and the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Mark Langemo is the co-author of four records management books and he has published over 60 magazine and journal articles. He has been the University of North Dakota's "Teacher of the Year," and he recently received a national award
for "excellence in continuing education seminars." He is a Certified Records Manager
(CRM) who has earned the Association of Records Managers and Administrators' coveted prestigious "Company of Fellows" in 1991. In 1993, Mark Langemo was given the prestigious Emmett Leahy Award by the Institute of Certified Records
Managers. The Leahy Award is the highest award internationally in the field of records management. Dr. Langemo is a dynamic speaker who presents content-filled, practical, and entertaining seminars.
