What It's All About

Finally! Something for those vibrant singles no longer part of the 20-something crowd but not ready for the over-the-hill gang either. Something exclusively for single men and women over 45 who want to meet other like-minded individuals while enjoying both elegant and casual wine tastings, parties, picnics, dances and trips designed around learning more about and experiencing every type of wine from around the world.

Membership in ''After The Wine'' will ensure that every detail of our more unusual and upscale social events will be planned and executed in perfect style ready for the busy professional or retiree to slip into and enjoy just like your own private country club. Here are just a few of the possibilities we see in our future...Everyone laughing and enjoying dinner, wine, music and each other on the Infinity Yacht while cruising down the Detroit River on a warm July evening...Trips to fabulous resorts in Napa and Sanoma valleys while being pampered and chauffeured between out-of-the-way wineries in stretch limousines...Private wine tastings at some of the best restaurants in the Metro-Detroit area led by world-class sommeliers...Being invited to tour and experience the private wine cellars of our members. ''After The Wine'' will include most any wine-related activities our minds can imagine.

What It's Not About

''After The Wine'' is not a dating service. Most of those have a cut off age of 45 although it's in very fine print and they are more than happy to take your money anyway. It's just that they have few if any matches for you, and none of those are even close to what you requested.

Have you tried those social websites? They have events listed in 20-something to 30-something catagories with a few activities for those up to 45. And about twice a year they throw a ''Boomers'' event. Well, who wants to go out just two times a year??? How offensive is that?

Maybe you've tried online dating or you just couldn't even bring yourself to take that route at all. And what if sitting in a bar looking for that special someone isn't your cup of tea?

Even the mega churches don't have singles groups that start at 45. I guess they figure we should just give up and be ready for the senior bus tours. Shoot me first!

So what's left? Good question! That's what EVERYONE's trying to figure out!

Why not start out with a subject that many people in this age bracket already enjoy and ask for others with that same interest to join? And why not let the members meet and mingle at lots of private club activities, and if they happen to find someone special to explore different interests with later, so much the better. Either way this will have introduced them to lots of new friends.
