The Red Cross believes that blood donation is a community responsibility. Donation of blood is voluntary and healthy members of the community are encouraged to donate blood so that hospital inventory levels can be maintained.

1500 Donations Needed Daily

The New England Region is the largest blood center in the Red Cross system, and is the second largest blood center in the United States. More than 170 hospitals and clinics in northern New England rely on the Red Cross for blood products.

The Braintree community hosts a blood drive the third Monday of every month at various locations in town. The support we receive is tremedous and makes Braintree a leader in blood collections on the South Shore. 2004 Blood Drives are sponsored by the Delta Lodge Masons, the Knights of Columbus, the Town Hall and the Sheraton hotel.
