4/3/2011 - Robb stopped by my house yesterday morning to let me know that the sprinklers were running along Hutchison Rd, it was 11:30 AM, Tuesday.
Having notified the board and the management company in an email about this over a month or so back and nothing has been done, I'd had enough. Wal-Mart had the 9v rechargable battery for $10. I'll submit the receipt along with another from Fedex for scanning a document, $6, for the pond rebuild project, and just be done with it.
While installing the battery there was a loose wire connection. It just happened to be a ground wire for one of the zones. It was loosely wrapped around another ground wire from one of two wiring harnesses and it was plainly not making good contact. I found a wire nut in my tool bag and was able to connect the two wiring harness grounds together along with a wire to connect to the main ground terminal on the circuit board.
Too bad our new irrigation company, Aqau Pro, is not a great as they were drummed up to be or recommeneded. They should have caught this and checked for a good battery. But, they were the cheapest on the block for regular site visits. They can sure stack up the invoice when it comes to repairs though. But, this seems to be the norm with these companies anyway. Seems like I've said this someplace else before.
Let's see if the new battery takes care of this age old problem now.
